Safer by design

Trust & Safety on Safegram

Safegram is building a safer online environment for social connections, communities and trading. We combine verified profiles, encrypted chat, reviews, reporting tools and family-safety layers so people can better understand who is on the other side before they follow, message, buy, sell or meet.

How Safegram approaches safety

We start from the assumption that trust online is hard. So we build layers โ€” identity verification for sellers, end-to-end encrypted chat, visible trust signals on profiles, in-app reporting, and active moderation โ€” instead of relying on any single control.

Verification layers

Verification is opt-in for general users and required for sellers, businesses and creators who want to monetise. Multiple checks can stack โ€” phone, email, identity document โ€” depending on the account type.

  • Phone & email verification for new accounts
  • Identity verification for sellers and businesses
  • Optional verification for general users to earn a trust badge
  • Business verification for verified business accounts

Reporting and moderation

Every profile, post, listing and chat has a report path. Moderation reviews reports, with escalation for child-safety, fraud or threats of violence. We respond faster when reports include context โ€” screenshots, links or order references.

Honest limits

No platform can guarantee safety. Safegram helps reduce the uncertainty of dealing with strangers online, but you should still meet in public for in-person trades, use platform chat, and avoid moving payments off-platform.

Frequently asked questions

Is Safegram safer than other social apps?

Safegram is designed around verified profiles, encrypted chat and trust layers from day one โ€” but we do not claim to be the safest platform in the world. We say honestly: we are building a safer environment, and we keep adding safety features as we grow.

Who verifies users and sellers?

Identity checks are run through trusted verification partners. Safegram reviews verification outcomes and applies the trust badge once checks pass.

Can I report someone anonymously?

Yes. In-app reports do not reveal the reporter to the person being reported.

How quickly are reports handled?

Child-safety, fraud and threat reports are prioritised. Most other reports are reviewed within a short queue. Adding context (screenshots, order IDs) speeds things up.

Does verification guarantee trust?

No verification system is fraud-proof. Verification reduces fake profiles and gives buyers more confidence, but you should still meet safely and keep transactions on-platform.
