Does everyone on Safegram have to verify?
No — for members it's free and strongly encouraged but optional. For every business, creator and seller it is required before your first listing goes live. Only verified profiles can list, sell, offer services or accept payments on Safegram.
Can I buy from an unverified seller?
No. Only verified sellers and businesses can list products, offer services or accept payments on Safegram. Every marketplace listing comes from an account that has passed Didit-powered KYC or KYB checks.
Who actually verifies my identity on Safegram?
Identity, seller and business verification on Safegram is performed by our verification partner Didit (didit.me) — a Y Combinator and Robinhood Ventures-backed identity infrastructure provider, ISO/IEC 27001 certified and EU-regulated, used by 2,000+ organisations worldwide including Firecrawl, Slash, Bit2Me and UCSF Neuroscape. See /verification-partner for full detail.
Is verification free?
Yes. Verification is free for everyone — free for members, and free for businesses, creators and sellers. Always.
Will my ID document be public?
No. Only the verification status is shown publicly. ID documents are processed by Didit as our sub-processor; Safegram stores the verification outcome and badge, not your document images.
How long does verification take?
Most Didit checks complete end-to-end in under two seconds; some manual reviews may take longer.
Can I lose my verified status?
Yes. Repeated policy violations, fraud or impersonation can lead to loss of badge and account suspension.
Is verification proof someone is trustworthy?
It is proof of identity, not of trustworthiness. Use verified status together with reviews, conversation context and common sense.
Does Safegram keep my ID document or biometrics?
No. Didit performs the check as our sub-processor; Safegram receives only a pass or fail result and the badge. We never hold your ID images or biometric templates.
Does verifying make me less anonymous in public?
No. Your legal name is not published because you verified. You choose your display name and what appears on your profile — the badge simply says a real person passed a check.
Do you sell verification data or use it for ads?
Never. Verification data is used for trust and fraud prevention only. Safegram does not sell personal data and runs no ad-profiling on members.
Can I delete my data if I stop using Safegram?
Yes. Data is processed in the EU under GDPR and you can request export or deletion at any time — see our privacy page for how.
